Senior Staff Association in Nigeria Polytechnics (SSANP) Non Academic Staff Union (NASU) lamented that staff promotions have been withheld since 2013.
Chairman of ASUP at Ekeowe
Polytechnic, Mr Afolabi Taiwo, said in Yenagoa yesterday that the unions
decided to issue the strike notice at the end of an emergency meeting on
Tuesday.
He noted that the refusal of the
governing council of the polytechnic to approve the backlog of promotion has
dampened staff morale.
The communique signed by
representatives of the three unions lamented that the polytechnic was yet to
commence academic activities five weeks after the suspension of ASUP nationwide
strike.
The communiqué was signed by Mr
Afolabi Taiwo, Chairman of ASUP, Mr Endurance Keyamo, Chairman, SSANIP and Mr
Nelson Ebimie, Chairman, NASU among others.
